The init.ora if it is an spfile will get backed up by rman if you set autobackup on (which isn't the default and should be). I know that's a lot of nested ifs, sorry.

My take would be
oratab
startup scripts
$ORACLE_HOME
$ORACLE_BASE
HKLM\Software\Oracle (on windows obviously)
