I am hitting this error while trying to install 11gR2( 11.2.0.1) GI with install and configure Grid Infrastructure for standalone server option.

Looking at the netca trace file it complains about

Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER))) TNS-01189: The listener could not authenticate the user

appreciate any suggestions
