Hello,

I'm having a real nightmare upgrading a 2 node 10.2.0.4 RAC cluster up to 11.2.0.1. This is running rhel 4 U3, 2.6.9 linux kernel (it's x86-64)

Upon starting the Grid infrastructure install, I have chosen the "Upgrade Grid Infrastructure" Option.

The install seems to proceed well, and I get to the end, where it is required to run the rootupgrade.sh script on both nodes. The following then happens when running this script:

2010-01-04 15:55:25: Parsing the host name
2010-01-04 15:55:25: Checking for super user privileges
2010-01-04 15:55:25: User has super user privileges
Using configuration parameter file:
/var/opt/grid/11.2.0/crs/install/crsconfig_params
Cannot get node network interfaces (/var/opt/grid/11.2.0/bin/oifcfg iflist -p -n failed.) at
/var/opt/grid/11.2.0/crs/install/crsconfig_lib.pm line 1786.

And at this point the rootupgrade.sh script bombs out, and I don't have an upgraded 11.2 cluster.

I've had a case with Oracle Support for 2 weeks now, and they seem to think it's a bug, but they are not exactly progressing the issue in any satisfactory way.

running /var/opt/grid/11.2.0/bin/oifcfg iflist -p -n seems to produce satisfactory output.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Did you find any workaround?

I can't believe a mainstream platform like this would have such a fundamental bug.

jason.
