Not to be a spammy vendor, but this is an area we frequently play in. Oracle actually includes a writeup that walks through using our drivers with the gateway.

If I understand your question re an ODBC GUI - we do provide a GUI admin on Linux, modeled on the Windows ODBC administrator with our ODBC. It is optional - those who like vi, can continue to do so!
