Another suggestion, in addition to the "two schemas approach":
Duplicate the schema, grant select rights as described, and create synonyms on the granted objects. This has the advantage, that you needn't change your sourcecode with schema specification if you don't have it already prepared this way. Mostly for packages etc. this business is annoying afterwards.
