I'm still not quite sure precisely when your overwriting occurred. Did it occur at the time of the backup, so that the backup itself only contains a single copy? If so, you are probably hosed. Can't create what doesn't exist.
Or did it occur at the time of your recovery?If so, it may be as simple as repeating the recovery using a slightly different procedure. If you post more details, then we can offer more help.
Gus provides an excellent idea. If you have all the archive records from the tablespace creation, you may be able to recreate it. Or if you have an earlier backup (that doesn't have the overwritten file problem) and all the archive records, you could recover the earlier backup and roll forward.
