Personally, if my company were *that* short sighted, I'd be looking for another job. I've yet to have a company I've worked for since I've started doing presentations that would not support me with travel funds. Heck, being accepted saves them the cost of the conference itself.
You are welcome to forward this email to your manager since I'll never be working for him or this company.
Just my opinion.... YMMV...

As a Denver resident (well...the burbs actually), you can attend the conference rather cheaply. Frontier Airlines has very reasonable fares,
decent schedule, very dependable service and great customer service. Their hub is Denver and they fly from most major markets in the states.
Public transportation is decent. The light rail line has a stop at the Convention Center and good service to the southcentral & southwest suburbs. If you stay in the Denver Tech Center, you will pay about 1/2 of what it costs to stay downtown, you can walk (or take the hotel shuttle) to a nearby station and pay about $10 for a round trip light rail ticket.
For those who want to ski or snowboard, the weekend before Collab is
the
last weekend most resorts are open. It will be busy, but the snow
should
still be good.
If you have any questions or want some additional advice, contact me
