We try to wait at least 2 months before applying a CPU patch, as these have been rather buggy in our experience. Last year's CPUOct2007 release changed the PQ distribution method in at least one of our queries, absolutely killing performance in certain situations. This was under 9.2.0.8 on Tru64, in a DW environment.

sigh ... forgot the main point I was trying to make ...

If they'd asked me if we were on the 'latest', the answer would have been no ... except for brief windows right after a release had been fully rolled through the environment(s) and before the next round hit.
