I am not sure if this is normal or not but you can try waking up the pmon
and see if it acts on it and clears the process entry. I have had to do
that when I kill backup processes stuck in NetBackup, to force pmon to
clear the process entry of a dead process
PMON, I believe, is always PID 2
oradebug setmypid
oradebug wakeup 2
