Database Discovery Tool?

Hi,

I've just received a promotion and now have responsibility for all my organizations databases. Since the position was gapped for about 3 months I am trying to find out what is out there. The list I have hasn't been updated in about 2 years. Is there a tool which I can deploy to find and report on servername and dbname? I need to do this both for Oracle and MS SQL. After that I'm starting on licenses.
