Hi,

I've tried it once just to see what would happen. It didn't go well and I had to rebuild standby. I had DG in maximum availability, LGWR was crashing during connect to a standby, bunch of ORA-600, etc. I guess you don't want that on production system. I don't remember though was I changing DBID or DBNAME or both but I know for sure I run nid utility.
