On a 10g database, there isa default datapump directory created.
Data Pump uses Oracle Directories, so you need to look in dba_directories, or all_directories
if you omit the directory on your datapump job, everything goes to DATA_PUMP_DIR

How can you find out if a directory has already been created for data pump and the location of the directory? I looked in init parms and didn't see it and looked in system tables and didn't see any reference to it.
