Unable to configure Firewire on Oracle Enterprise server 4-> 2.6.9-42.0.0.0.1.EL

Hi Gurus,
Has anubody successfully configured firewire on Oracle enterprise server 4 kernel 2.6.9-42.0.0.0.1.EL
If yes can u please let me how you configured it out. I downloaded the rpm
oracle-firewire-modules-2.6.9-42.0.3.0.2.EL-1286-1.i686.rpm and installed it,
After rebooting I am not able to see the external drive. checked through the commands modprobe nothing is coming up. Tried to see if /proc/scsi dir has anything updated but none.

This same card and the external drive is working fine on the partitioned linux 3 operating sytem

Not sure where i am going wrong.

Any help will be greatly be appreciated.
