We use Oracle 10g R2 on 11.5.10.2 using ASM on SAN. I assume your question related to DB tier, since for apps file system OCFS is not supported.

We dont use ASMLIB rather use raw devices directly. There is no additional administration overhead/ complexity because of SAN. You also have asmcmd to do some administration tasks at file level.

So far I havent had any issues except for one bug i found in the DB cloning template when using ASM. If you are hosting multiple instances in the single diskgroup, the cloning template does not create unique control files, thereby overwriting existing control files.
