Hi,
I've had Enterprise Linux 4.5 running on a VMware Server 1.0.0 within
a Linux host. As per my opinion, what the host os is doesn't matter
much. And that the Enterprise Linux is just another RHEL, there is no
big difference between them. So Enterprise Linux aught to be able to
run in VMware 'cause RHEL is supported(I think) by VMware.
I guess it's your network config which causes the problem. I don't
quite get what you mean by these paragraph. Did you lost something to
paste and are the two 195.175.25.1s typos? Could you please be more
clear about this? And please post the details of the two machines'
(host and guest) network configuration here.

Hopefully your Linux's ip configuration is OK, because you can contact
your host(from your guest machine). However, how about the opposite
way? And I'm not clear about "when you use dhcp" you *what* network
service won't start, host's? or guest's? And the dhcp is VMware's or
just some configuration in the Linux guest?
