Parallel index build on a partitioned table

Hi all:

I am building an index on a 40+ mil rows table. The table is partitioned and I need to build the index locally partitioned in parallel. I do not see it happenning; I see nothing in the px table when the index is being built. When I build the same index on the same table which is not partitioned, the index is indeed built in parallel. Is there an explanation (and possibly a fix) for that. I have an SR with oracle but getting nowhere so far
