Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Wait event "Local write wait"
Hi All,
I have kicked of a script handed to me by developers on a test environment (9.2.0.8 on Solaris) and it takes a long time to run 12+ hours
It renames , creates and alters tables and creates indexes.
I'm getting following wait events as the top 5
The top 2 I already looked at and think can be explained by not doing
any direct inserts
There is an alter session to enable parralel execution but the tables
are noparallel so no direct inserts.
But it's the 3rd one that I can't get much info on when I google
EVENT Total Seconds WaitTOTAL_WAITS
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------ ----------- log buffer space 378433 46140 log file switch (checkpoint incomplete) 240450 2559 local write wait 208288 3161 db file scattered read 195782 103082 direct path write 24565 2604 log file switch completion 15622534
Anyone have pointers where I can go for that one?
Thx
jack
