Hmmm.....you could try the man page for the 'ln' command.  

Here's an excerpt pertaining to the '-f' option:

     -f Link files without questioning the user, even if the

           mode of target forbids writing. This is the default if

           the standard input is not a terminal.

 My friend has this below problem.

Can anyone please let me know the complete functionality of ln - f command.

When used in this way ,  

For example , statement like this

 ln -f $EUAP_TOP/sql/HWAPREMO.sql $AP_TOP/sql/HWAPREMO.sql

is deleting the file in $AP_TOP/sql directory.
