Hello All
I am trying the install Oracle 11g on Linux.
The server is
$ uname -a
Linux testsacx 2.6.9-55.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri Apr 20 17:03:35 EDT 2007
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
$ xhost+ testsacx
$ export DISPLAY=testsacx:0.0
I start the runInstaller and get the following message
Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors
>>> Could not execute auto check for display colors using
command /usr/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is
set. Failed <<<<
$ ls -l /usr/bin/xdpyinfo
ls: /usr/bin/xdpyinfo: No such file or directory
$
I searched in google for xdpyinfo and came up with [1]http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:g_aghAprJMcJ:t2-project.or g/packages/xdpyinfo.html+xdpyinfo+for+download&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1 1&gl=us
I am not sure if this can be used in GNU linux. I will ask the SysAdmin to get this one setup. But i want to know if anyone has a better idea of attacking this issue.
Thanks
Govindan
