Um, its not real hard to catch the sql and replay it in Oracle. You can
do it using logminer or the auditing tables, if that's all you want to
do. What does real application testing do in addition to that, and how
does it compare to the 'SQL trace replay' that is spoken of here?

Yes, especially considering that SQL Server has had real application testing (by the name of "SQL trace replay" from the Profiler) included in the base product since SQL 7.0 was released almosts 10 years ago! And Oracle is acting like it's some revolutionary new idea that you should pay extra for.
