1.Oracle Applications DBA -
Location: Chicago (Oak Brook, IL)
(No relocation assistance offered)
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
Comments:
The firm has nearly 400 in its IT staff when corporate and remote
facilities are combined. They have one of the largest data networks
in the country and they have grown aggressively over the last five
years, which is expected to continue. This growth will continue to
drive new career opportunities at all levels of the organization.
Additionally, over the last two years they have reshaped their
leadership, including a new CIO and several new subordinate leaders.
Their goal is to reshape the corporate mindset regarding technology
use, as they only had a 50 person, AS400 based IT department in 1999.
They are accomplishing this by embracing standardized methods is all
areas of their IT operation to improve overall efficiency.
***They need an experienced Oracle DBA (3 yrs w/ Oracle, at least 5
years total DBA exp) who is equally competent in Oracle 11i apps admin duties.
***Must have experience in either a Unix or Linux server environment
(Exp w/ Windows servers only will not work).
They have excellent benefits and a great technical training program.

Responsible for implementing, upgrading, and mantaining all Oracle
enterprise databases including PEOPLESOFT Financials/HR environments
and non-PEOPLESOFT databases. Candidate should have 8 years of Oracle
database administration experience and four years of
PEOPLESOFT/Oracle experience, preferably in an HP Unix shop. Needs
strong Unix shell scripting, participation in disaster recovery and
business continuity planning. Knowledge of Oracle 9i and 10g
databases and upgrading from 9i, hands-on database experience with
monitoring, tuning, backups utilizing RMAN, database
refreshes,disaster recovery, segmentation, partitioning, Data Guard,
and capacity planning. Must have a BS in a Computer related field.
3. Oracle Database Administrator (11i)-
Location: Washington, DC (No relocation Assistance avaiable)
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000
Comments:
Wash DC client s looking for a Database Administrator in their NW DC
headquarters. In this role, you will maintain, troubleshoot and
develop ORACLE Financials 11.5.10.2 on a 9i Database (upgrading to
10g), to include System Administration, Functional Administration and
Database Administration for both a production and test environment
that is hosted on Linux Red Hat with an EMC SAN back end. Duties
include building and developing reports in ORACLE Reports 6.0,
Discoverer 4.1 and Excel; building responsibilities, menus and forms
to meet the needs of the organization, maintain security and limit
access; checking Apache, ORACLE DB, ORACLE Application, Java and
Linux logs daily to ensure the system is error free; tuning the
database and the application to cut back on long running jobs,
queries and log-In wait times; monitoring and troubleshooting the
workflow as well as workflow messages and logs; customizing forms,
ORACLE Reports, Applications and User Preferences; backup and
recovery of the database, middleware and the application server using
Rman and Veritas; and Red Hat system administration.
You must have at least 4 years of related experience; a strong understanding of ORACLE 9i and 10g database administration tools and practices; experience patching and maintaining ORACLE Financials 11i; and experience as an ORACLE Database Administrator including: installation, configuration, maintenance, data warehousing, database tuning, backups and integration with non-ORACLE applications. Experience with Red Hat Linux administration, backup and recovery using RMAN, and EMC SAN are also required. Experience upgrading ORACLE applications is a strong plus.
