Tanmoy,

You might mention the Oracle version and which server you are using. Are these sessions local to the server or remote connections? What do you define as an orphan? Only a database session, but no server process? Was the max time an Oracle setting or a server setting? Did Oracle kill the session or did an external process kill the session?
