Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RollFoward "Recovery"
Jeremy,
As promised by me
at http://hemantoracledba.blogspot.com/2007/05/recovery-in-cold-backup.html
to explain what I had hinted at about doing a RollForward in my
Oracle-L posting
(http://www.freelists.org/archives/oracle-l/05-2007/msg00440.html)
here is a worked-example of a RollForward "Recovery" from a Cold Backup http://hemantoracledba.blogspot.com/2007/05/rollforward-from-cold-backup.html
Also as an example of when knowledge of the actual SQL commands for Recovery are important, rather than relying on RMAN alone. I generally prefer RMAN for RESTORE commands but SQL for RECOVER commands !
