I agree - I like to have a DBA involved to check things out whenever the host and/or instance is restarted. We've got about 10 unix (AIX & HPUX) boxes and none of them has ever crashed in over 8 years. Why would you do weekly reboots on a Unix box?

In one previous shop, unix shutdown every Sunday anyway, so it was coded to only autostart on that day.... perhaps that was at that time one reason the unix box rarely crashed... if ever.
