Thank you both.
Generally speaking, eventhough I have some grouses against the quality of the analysts or what they ask, I have not really found it difficult to escalate the SR when I needed it.
Now the analyst is pointing me to Bug 5862719 ['ULIMIT -N UNLIMITED' DOESN'T WORK IN INIT.CRSD ON LINUX'] and asking me to apply patchset 10.2.0.3 and patch 5980915 on top of it!
Any helpful insight appreciated.
