Its a permissions thing, Oracle changed the permissions in 10g for some
reason. There is a patch to change the permissions or you can run
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/nls
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/nls/data
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/sqlplus
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/sqlplus/mesg
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/oracore
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/oracore/zoneinfo
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/rdbms
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/rdbms/mesg
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/network
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/network/admin
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/network/names
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/nls
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/nls/data
chmod o+xr /opt/apps/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/db/bin/sqlplus
