To determine the ENDIAN format of your source DB:
select t.endian_format
from v$transpotable_platform t, v$database d
where t.platform_name = d.platform_name;
Not sure how you can tell the same for the Sun box you are on, unless you create a small test DB instance and execute the above query on it. My guess is if your source is x86 and the Sun is x86, you are dealing with the same ENDIAN format - YMMV.

It allowed a lot of capacity and a low price. Now I am supposed to clone an existing 10g database to it. Can I do this and be sure that there are no little endian, big endian issues? How can I tell for certain if there will be or if there are? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
