The problem **probably** existed once you switched the domain. Since your RMAN connection failed due to insufficient privs it never came till starting backup. I would suspect the domain first before looking into sqlnet.authentication. You had not mentioned if any of your backups ran successfully after you switched the domain. Where your Backup Servers / Clients are located? Inside this new domain? Where they switched too?
