We use this way to populate our devel db 10gR2 on Solaris10x86 from prod
db 10gR2 on Solaris10sparc. No problems however. I use exp/imp tools
provided with 10gR2 - usually I "exp" data on devel machine (no ftp in use).
As You see all versions are the same - may be somewhere near lies the
problem of Yours?
