Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Restoring RMAN backups from 64-bit server to 32-bit server
Greetings,
I am running 64-bit Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 Standard edition on 64-bit RHEL4 Linux 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp #1 SMP Thu Aug 17 17:57:31 EDT 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux on one server. I am using RMAN to backup the database.
I am attempting to restore this database using these RMAN backups to a second server running 32-bit Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 standard edition on 32-bit RHEL4 Linux 2.6.9-42.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 12 23:27:17 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux.
I restored and recovered the database and upon exiting RMAN encountered the following error...
RMAN> exit
RMAN-06900: WARNING: unable to generate V$RMAN_STATUS or V$RMAN_OUTPUT
row
RMAN-06901: WARNING: disabling update of the V$RMAN_STATUS and
V$RMAN_OUTPUT rows
ORACLE error from target database:
ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319]
Recovery Manager complete.
Now I am able to connect to the database but each time see the ORA-06553 error. I suspect that the error is due to the fact that I restored from 64-bit to 32-bit Oracle and O/S.
First, is that correct that the difficulties I am seeing are due to the 32-bit/64-bit difference? The more I think about it I begin to think perhaps I should have known better?
Is it possible to do this?
Thanks.
