Dataguard Broker with FSFO on Linux

Has anybody had success with deploying DG Broker for a single node single-instance (NON RAC) fail-over setup on Linux?

Any tips would be welcome - the manual for 10GR2 is all over the place for using DGMGRL. I have to use a command-line interface, to provide scripted instructions to run the failover.

Also is there a script (bash or ksh) that will re direct the client software (Apache thin client running perl) to the new primary database after a failover.
