Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> V$RESOURCE vs. V$SYSSTAT sessions current
I'm currently trying to gather statistics for capacity planning and I came across a little confusion about the maximum concurrent database connections. Using STATSPACK, I believe there are 2 ways:
I assumed they'd be relatively close in value yet I'm finding a rather wide difference, with STATS$RESOURCE_LIMIT 'sessions' being -27% to 500%+ different from STATS$SYSSTAT 'logons current'. For reference, 'sessions' limit is showing on average 1000 as the max per day.
Other than the views coming from different X$ objects, I can't account for the large differences, other than I'm way off on my understanding. Does anyone see what I'm doing wrong here?
This is on Oracle 9.2.0.6, TIMED_STATISTICS=TRUE, running on Tru64 5.1.
Thanks.
Dave
