Oracle being choosy about how they get their revenue is a bit absurd. They should be happy to get EE licenses regardless of what the underlying platform looks like. Oracle is the most widely ported database on the planet. For that reason there are 100% correctness checking test suites that ensure underlying stuff works. The kit is called Oracle Certification Environment (OCE). PolyServe
have been using it since late 2001 since we implement the Oracle Disk Manager Library.

Oracle reports revenue from database and middleware **combined** now. That should speak volumes.
