Re: multiple 10g versions on windows

This is the case since 7.2 or 7.3 or so..everytime you start the installer to install new stuff, it proposes a new oracle_home.
just FYI. There is a file called 'oracle.key' in the \bin directory that points to the registry key belonging to that \bin directory..

AFAIK you can have any number of Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g homes on Windows. I have for certain an 8.1.7.4, a 9.2.0.4, a 9.2.0.7, a 10.1.0.5 and a 10.2.0.2 home and database running on a Win2000 AS OS.

I have a similar situation.  I have 10g R1 database software and 10gR1 client software installed on my desktop.
 
My registry shows:
 
KEY_OraClient10g_home1
KEY_OraDb10g_home1
 
The OraDb10G_home1 directory shows the two databases I have created.
