I forgot to mention we use in this way links
CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK XXX.WORLD



  CONNECT TO XX IDENTIFIED BY XXX



  USING 'XXX.WORLD'

previously we tried other options like shared, but for some reason I don't
remember we rejected that option.
