Niall,
Thanks. But I doubt it is available in asm instance.
Randy,
Thank you very much for this useful info. So, it is actually, a two step
process.
I have like this. Do you know what does this 8 represent? And what do the
first and second parameter represent? Any pointers? And one more thing if I
can ask, how can determine if it is a partition or a disk itself? 9At least
in this case, all of them are partitions).
[root_at_lin1 dev]# ls -ltr | grep sda
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 0 Nov 17 12:35 sda brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 1 Nov 17 12:35 sda1 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 2 Nov 17 12:35 sda2 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 3 Nov 17 12:35 sda3 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 4 Nov 17 12:35 sda4 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 6 Nov 17 12:35 sda6 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 5 Nov 17 12:35 sda5 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 7 Nov 17 12:35 sda7 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 8 Nov 17 12:35 sda8 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 9 Nov 17 12:35 sda9 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 10 Nov 17 12:35 sda10 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 11 Nov 17 12:35 sda11 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 12 Nov 17 12:35 sda12 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 13 Nov 17 12:35 sda13 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 14 Nov 17 12:35 sda14 brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 15 Nov 17 12:35 sda15
Thank you, so much.
