But does it shows me the logs from previous months?.. We had some problems with the SAN, and I need to prepare a report with the times and dates the DB had shutdown due to these problems.

the database alert log will show if it had been shutdown due to a hardware error, if it had completely crashed without shuttign down - then no - unix wont display specific errors about specific apps
