Fadi,
What databases have remote access into yours? Any of them could be holding the lock. Has any server/remote db been bounced lately? Any network interruptions between servers? Lots of possibilities.

I keep getting ORA-01591 lock held by in-doubt distributed transaction string
And I search all metalink for solution but could not find any help on it, I don't have any pending transactions. Do you have any hint?
