Good morning my mentors:

I am attempting to upgrade Oracle from 9.2.0.5 to 9.2.0.7 on AIX-64bit IBM P570.
1.) rootpre.sh cannot be found in the downloaded patchset. 2.)after using rootpre.sh from another home, installer will not recognize the Oracle Home i am
attempting to upgrade.

### Steps taken ###
sysadm - run rootpre.sh from /opt/oracle/archive/OEM/disk1/rootpre dba - set environment

export ORACLE_BASE=/opt/oracle
export ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/twprd01/product/9.2
export ORACLE_SID=twprd01

dba - run /opt/oracle/archive/software/Disk1/runInstaller dba - click on Existing Software button on OUI

result - OEM (10g) ORACLE_HOME shows up, but the instance (twprd01) ORACLE_HOME
does not.

your comments / critiques are very much appreciated.

Bryan
