Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g (10.2.0.1) and hostname
Hello.
I have installed Oracle database 10.2.0.1 on RedHat Linux and I have noticed any problem with Enterprise Manager. If I click on some links, for example on green column on the first page in Host CPU section, I receive following error: "Unhandled exception during generation of chart CPU Load". This error is related with my server hostname. If hostname contain underline char "_" (i.e.: hostname="my_server") this error appear - some Enterprise Manager pages are not displayed. Next, if I change in address field "my_server" to "my*_server", then everything is OK :). In some places before "_" is added automatically char "*", but in some places not, and then my problems are appear. Probably char "_" is treat as any special char in OEM and must be precedence asterisk "*". My question is why in some places is OK, and in some not?
Have you got any suggestion how to resolve my problem? I know, that change server hostname resolve this problem, but it doesn't recover BUG :)
Best regards,
Maciej
