wield oracle file size and can not copy

we have a DELL server with Redhat AS 3.4 installed. I found one of ORACLE file have wield size (ORACLE 9ir2). I used "ls -al" look it and it show very large, but if I check it inside ORACLE and it show 400MB.

drwxr-xr-x 12 oracle oinstall 4096 Sep 18 20:20 ..

I try to copy this file to other place and it stop on 400MB and stay in there never finish. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
