Good day, list,

Under which circumstances will a bind buffer not be allocated? I was diagnosing a 10053 trace and even though it looks like the bind variables should be peeked, I get empty buffers. The query plan seems to reflect this, and I am at a loss to explain it. I asked Oracle Support and the only answer I got back was "this happens sometimes".

This is under 10.2.0.2, so _optim_peek_user_binds defaults to true, and I have not altered it.
