Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Re: Use ASM to share files between PROD & STANDBY?
Standby database is a mean of replicating or copying your database (files)
to another site for the purpose of recovering from disasters like flood,
computer attacks, quakes etc.
For this reason, a standby db using the prod db is useless, if it could have
been.
