Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: System tablespace Default creation -> DMT or LMT in ver 10.2 ?
Hi Vivek,
DMT is deprecated and not advisable to use. It just exists in 9i/10g for backwards compatibility towards 8i and older releases. Use LMT when possible, as the overall performance is quite better and it is easier to set up. Regarding the 10g documentation, DMT is default but take care that if you want to specify AUTOALLOCATE or UNIFORM clauses, you are required to have also the EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL clause.
I hope that helps.
Regards,
Tristan
PS: Try to get access to the online Oracle documentation from your workspace; the information you seek is all there in plain and easy to understand English. Maybe you can convince your system administrator about this. ;)
