We're currently just doing a dgmgrl "show configuration" and grep-ing for SUCCESS in the output. Have to check and see if there is already a cron job running, though, because if there is a problem with the DG configuration, it can hang. No doubt there are better ways of montoring DG but that's what we're doing. We also scrape the alert log for ORA- errors.
