Would setting alternatives for $TMP and $TMPDIR help (to something you are allowed to write in...) ?

One possible workaround could be to use sudo to grant the oracle user the right to execute ufsdump as root - although that could pose a security hole in your environment.
what are the result of ls -al /dev/rdsk/c5t600015D000052A000000000000001336d0s0 ?
