Agreed 100% - just because they like to keep me in the dark doesn't mean I don't fight my way out. Sometimes I get the feeling that I read the AIX manuals more than they do, and that really annoys them. They're not really that bad, but they get a little defensive when I make recommendations about configuring RAID, CIO, large pages & pinning shared memory, vmo settings, etc. - things that are really "sys admin", but have such a large effect on the performance of Oracle that they are certainly my concern. Plus they won't let me have the root password - they say it has something to do with "security", those jerks :-)
