RE: Oracle University courses - opinion?

I've been to a couple. I was pleased with the instructors experience and classroom presentation skills. The course material you take away is exactly the course material you need to pass the Oracle cert (amazing how that works) and they had a very nice selection of pastries and coffee in the morning. If you want to get certified you are required to take at least once course with them. I'm not sure now if the on-line courses count. I'm guessing they would.

	At the moment, I'm specifically looking for instructor-led, that is comparing Oracle University instructor-led with other instructor-led courses. In the UK, the Oracle University 5-day instructor-led DBA courses are in the region of £2100 vs £1600ish for other similar 5-day instructor-led courses I've seen. So I'm wondering if Oracle University really offers something  over and above other courses... (i.e. to justify the price difference)

		I agree, that the Oracle University courses are good, but the one downside of taking an online course is that you do not have an instructor there when you have questions. If you have enough hands-on experience as a DBA and you are only taking the course because it is a requirement for the OCP, then you should be fine.

		I would recommend looking into the on-line courses - they are $1000 less 
		than the price of the in-person courses (US$1500 instead of US$2500, 
		IIRC).  I took one once because it was a requirement for the OCP and I 
		thought the course was pretty good.
