Thanks. As with all great undocumented parameters (sarcasm), there is
not much info on this. What units is the threshold in? And what else
does it affect?

A few weeks ago I posted a 10.2.0.2 query example that produced the wrong results.
This turned out to be a bug 5228983 and is related to partitioned tables so I thought I might as well post a warning.
The "fix" is
"Workaround:
Set "_table_lookup_prefetch_thresh" to a very high
value such that it disables prefetch."
