Transportable tablespaces and Oracle downgrading...

So let's say you have a 10gR2 database that you need to downgrade to 10gR1. You have no choice, you have to downgrade.

The immediate solution that comes to mind:

• export the entire database
• shutdown the database.
• trash the 10gR2 software
• install 10gR1 software, and create an empty database.
• import a lot of schemas with a ton of data.

Or, second option:

• export the transportable tablespace metadata.
• shutdown the database.
• trash the 10gR2 software
• install the 10gR1 software and create an empty database.
• import the transportable tablespace metadata.

Has anyone actually executed the second option?? Is it doable??
